In this little short story about William O. Douglas it reminds me about the time I went to Florida and the waves are huge and very strong. I know how he feels it is very scary I know how to swim I am a great swimmer buts it just very scary. When you get dunked under water without even knowing really that’s even scarier well just as scary.
When I went to Florida and you’re just surrounded by sand and water it’s crazy and very scary. When you are just going out there for the first time you can’t wait your want to get there right away and you’re already. Then the first big wave comes your way you’re ready and then it gets bigger and CRASH your under the water your scared you looking for someone to hold onto or get help from.
Getting dunked is the worst and scary as heck. All of a sudden you having fun then bam your under water don’t know what to do but scream but you’re not loud enough and your waving you arms but that does work they think you acting then they let go and you take a big breath and your kind of in shock from it and you just want to get out of the water. Now if someone wants to dunk you for fun and they are telling you they are going to dunk you then ok but dunking people is never something to joke about.
Water can be very scary in every way when you get dunked or some big wave comes and takes you down you get in shock and you go kind of crazy. Now remember if you ever dunk someone remember they could die when it’s too deep of water. After reading this story I feel kind of sad for him because he could have died I could only imagine what the guy you dunked me feels I bet he feels pretty sad and he won’t do it again. It’s good that he got over his fear though h\it kind of inspired me to become over your fears and move on.

The Pearl essay response
The Pearl
The book The Pearl by John Steinbeck is a really good book he really knows how to bring you into the book like you are there with Kino and Juana. Kino is the husband in this family he is dark skinned, he has black hair, and he has a mustache. Juana is the wife of the family she is dark skinned too and she also has black long hair. Kino and Juana have a baby named Coyotito altogether they make one happy Indian family. What is their story? Where does it all start? Is it a happy or sad ending?
It all starts with them has a family and then the baby gets stung by a scorpion. Kino is really mad because he never got to the scorpion fast enough. So they went to the doctor and this doctor is very prejudice. He was very rich he only like money and Kino and Juana didn’t have any. So they become pearlers which are people that search for pearls.
Kino was out looking for some pearls and he found some but none of them are the right size to pay the doctor. Finally he finds the pearl of the world which is the biggest pearl ever and it cost a lot more than others he was happy. The weird part is right when he finds the pearl of the world Coyotito gets better weird right.
At the end of the book that’s the sad part. Kino and Juana are heading out to get out of town and they of course are getting followed and there are three trackers. So Kino and Juana go and hide right when one of the trackers go by the baby starts crying and the tracker thinks that it’s a coyote and shoots the baby right in the head. Then Kino stabs the tracker then he’s down and he goes and kills the other two with him. Then Kino and Juana have no need for the pearl since the baby died so they throw it back into the water. That’s my essay response on The Pearl.

the lesson and what I thought of The Pearl
The lesson of The Pearl is don’t let anything take you over don’t let fame and fortune take your life over and control you. The three main characters are Juana, Kino, and Coyotiteo. There story is like they have money problems and they don’t have any money. They find a pearl and it just destroys Kino, Juana, and The baby’s life. The Pearl is a sad and some happy parts over all a great book.
One of the best parts for the pearl is that the author really knows how to describe the story and uses a big vocabulary. He can really bring you into the book. The way the author writes it makes you feel sad in the sad parts and makes you happy in the happy parts. So they go out and find pearls they become pearlers which are people of find pearls. Before they do that they have to deal with a mean and nasty doctor. Their son Coyotiteo gets stung by a scorpion and the doctor won’t help because they are poor and they are Indians.

Why Does Juana Believe that the Pearl will Destroy her and Kino
It will destroy them because Kino will only want to worry about the pearl the pearl will become one with him like Frodo and the ring from Lord of the Rings. Okay back to the topic Juana I think she is right it will destroy them. Kino says he wants to sell the pearl for his son but in time he will go crazy for the pearl and he will never give it up every that’s just what I think. The only way I think it will destroy them is because of what I said earlier Kino will go crazy and do anything for the pearl.

The Pearl
In my point of view it is okay I guess it's not really the best book I have read but I know it will get better the more I read on. I don’t know what will have to the baby I feel sad that he got stung by a scorpion. If I was in Kino position I would be so mad at the doctor for not helping them because they are not rich and they are Indians. The doctor is very prejudices and I can't believe we all used to be like that. Well getting back to the book I think Juana and Kino are going to be very happy in the future with the baby being healed its kind of weird though because they find the pearl of the world and then they baby is just fine right then and there weird right.
